Methods

·  Communicate with the leadership of a broad range of organizations interested in environmental issues.

·  Ask that leadership to propose pro-environment actions to their members.

·  Encourage groups to make collective action suggestions to the EAE that could be communicated to other organizations.

·  Lobby local public officials and provide input at city council meetings.

·  Identify support systems for public and private environmental efforts.

·  Track the environmental voting record of elected officials.

Operating rules

Not all allies will agree with every position proposed by the EAE. In all cases, allies will be asked if they support a specific, proposed action. ONLY those that agree will be identified as supporters of those actions.

Email addresses will be treated with respect. Messages will be sent only when significant action is requested of allies. Addresses will be hidden when mass messaging occurs. “Reply all” will not be allowed.

The contact list will be actively managed and allies can elect to opt out at any time. Communication will be only to a select individual(s) in each allied organization. That individual will be responsible for contacting their members, for determining whether an issue is to be supported, and for responding to the EAE.
